Yellow: bright, golden, and sunny. When we see yellow, we feel positive energy & creativity. Our associations with this bright hue lead us to the imagery of vivid morning sun and a blank slate to take on the day. Yellow is alert, aware, and attention-grabbing. It draws the eyes immediately, so we choose it for caution signs and quick alerts. In advertising, sometimes we associate yellow with safety (think Caterpillar & Stanley) and sometimes we associate it with playfulness (think Nestle Quik, McDonalds, and Snapchat).

Yellow symbolizes happiness, optimism, and is cheerfully energetic. I asked a seven-year-old what he thinks about the color yellow, and he said "It makes me feel like bananas!"
